The drive up to the mountain was boring, especially because they had to drive slowly. Tom’s Dad needed to reach the science research lab before it got dark, but the freezing road wasn’t allowing him to drive any faster. It had actually been very cold for several days, but they had important work to do so they continued up the narrow road as it twisted and turned around the mountain. In an effort to have fun in the car, Tom turned on the radio only to hear a sudden news flash, ” We repeat this is a weather warning! Major snow storm is going to hit the area. Please remain indoors until the storm passes.” Tom and his Dad looked at each other, could they make it in time?
